Cook Time: 20 mins
2 cups water
1 Brown onion, roughly chopped
1 Chilli, chopped
3 Spring onions, roughly chopped
2 Garlic cloves
1 inch knob of Ginger, roughly chopped
1/2 cup caster sugar
1 cup chinese cooking wine
1/3 cup soy sauce
Pinch of Tasman sea salt
1 tsp cracked pepper
3 Nichols Ethical Free Range chicken breast
- Into a pot of water add brown onion, chilli, spring onion, garlic, ginger, sugar, chinese cooking wine, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add in chicken breasts and bring back up to the boil. Once it has reached boiling point, reduce to a simmer and cook for a further 15 minutes.
- Remove chicken and use two forks to pull apart the breast. Garnish with spring onions, chilli or authentic wasabi from Shima Wasabi.
